About
In 2008 Stephanie Chace was inspired to create Remembering Dinner while attending a leadership workshop in Tucson, AZ. At that time she was a volunteer for the All Souls Procession, a community event inspired by the Mexican Holiday
Dia De Los Muertos. This event culminates in a procession of thousands people honoring those they have lost through artistic expression.
The idea to produce a cookbook as a fundraiser for theAll Souls Procession seemed nicely suited for a leadership project and a good way to serve those who attended the dinners. However, stories of food memories are too numerous to be contained in one book. For Chace, it became clear that Remembering Dinner could be experienced by many by encouraging others to create their own Remembering Dinner. Through this process of calling out to all to share a Remembering Dinner, there is a genuine possibility that it will find its way to becoming a tradition for those memorializing the departed.
Stephanie Chace, lives in Boston and is happliy the Boston Public Library's first Nutrition Literacy Coordinator.
