How To

      Some guidance on how to

             host a Remembering Dinner.

The lists below are not rules -

         simply suggestions

                 to help you along.

Consider the venue where you would like the RD to be held.

Some possibilities are:

A Private Home.

Public space: a park, unused public space, a lake side,

monument park, a beach,  public garden, mountain top.

Semi public: art gallery, shared studio space,

recreational club house, school hall.

Other considerations: In the light of the Sun.Under

Moonlight. Starlight. Under the shade of trees, within the protection of ancient cliffs. The main point is to provide a space for guests in which they feel welcomed and at ease.

Keeping the number of guest to 35 --40 tops  works nicely, any

more than that seems to divert the attention and care attendants can offer one another. If your choice is to have an RD in a space other than a private home request that your guests bring their own tableware and cutlery . Encourage your guests to  bring a photograph of their beloved, along with a print out of the story and recipe      accompanying their dish.

                                                                Invite!

     Create a Space
       for Dinner

Provide tables and chairs for your guests. It is

helpful to situate the tables end to end.

This allows for conversation to flow easily,

as well as passing dishes. An additional table

for sweets is a good idea, while placing

remembrance dishes at the set table. Create an altar of images of those being remembered  along with the stories and recipes. You could also add these items to the sweets table. Place  flowers & candles throughout. EVERYWHERE!

Open your heart, listen, play music and share.
